IMPORTANT RULE CHANGE - SLOW GAITED CLASS
Current Rule
Slow gaited riders must use Western tack only with the type of bit being
optional. Horses will be shown with split reins and with one hand only.
No colored brow bands or ribbons are permitted.
New Rule
Slow gaited riders must use Western tack only and horses will be
shown with one hand only. No colored brow bands or ribbons are
permitted. Any standard horse bit may be used, except for a gag bit
with no shanks. Shanks in excess of 91/2 inches in length are
prohibited. Shanks are measured from the very top of the metal to
the very bottom of the metal, including the rings to which the cheeks
and reins are attached. See diagram below:

A NOTE ON THE 2008 STATE HORSE SHOW

There are NO CHANGES to the State Show Schedule for 2008.
Southeast will be housed in the Star Barn.
